The reds are my favorite. I like the yellows, the peaches, and the oranges, but I love the reds.

This tree lies along a path to the water at the Talbot Islands. Amazing little ecosystem that fascinated me for a while.

magical mystery forest

magical mystery forest

My aunt and uncle came out for a few days so we took a short excursion and showed them the flooded forests of central Florida. Once you get into these little canals, it’s like being transported to another world. Oh, and there were basically NO bugs this time of year. 🙂

The term “flooded forests” is credited to Scott Jarvie, at least that is where I first heard that term and it stuck.

I think this might be the last autumn photo I post for this year. Need to get out and find something new to photograph. Time for a trip somewhere interesting.

Enjoy the weekend!

A beautiful yellow forest in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. I loved the blanket of leaves covering everything that made me feel transported to another world.

The entrance to my neighborhood is just 100 feet behind me as I took this shot of my favorite local trees.  The moss loves them as much as I do.  🙂
