A not-so-smoky day in the Smokies. 🙂

Rain & changing leaves & the Smokies = magical day in the forest. The view out my window right now is starkly different.

The first time I was at this spot there was no mountain visible. Six days later, it showed itself. Made for a much better photo and a much happier me. 🙂

it’s hot in here

My best friend and her family visited this weekend and endured the hottest day in years and hottest June I’ve experienced here in Florida. I think they will visit again (fingers crossed) but probably not during the summer! I’m actually longing for the 95 degree heat in the Valley of Fire – with very little humidity – pictured here. 🙂

“It’s never the wrong time to start getting things right.” me

Had a little chat with a photographer friend last night which reinforced the thoughts that were banging around in my head – it’s time to focus on fewer things and get them really right. I need to simplify. Only once I complete something on my list, then should I start something new. I’m going to try! 🙂

This place took my breath away, and not because I had to walk the (easy) road into it. 😉 I was the only person there that day. Not another soul. I felt like I’d left the planet. Granted it was raining a bit but that’s kinda normal in the PNW right? That snow-dusted peak in the corner makes it seem like it was chilly but it wasn’t bad – maybe 50s F.

Mt. Hood was only visible one day out of the week I was there – the last day. I was happy to see the elusive beauty. 🙂

I’ve been down all weekend with a hand injury to my primary hand, of course. Haven’t been able to stay caught up but I hope the swelling will improve soon and let me. Yoga can be dangerous. ;P
