joy, wisdom & power
…plus light, friendship, cheerfulness, etc. All of these are common associations with the color yellow across cultures. Thus, a yellow flower seemed properly symbolic to me of Google+’s 2nd birthday today.
Happy birthday Google+! And a big thank you to everyone here who has made this place full of fun, wisdom, laughter and so much more. 🙂

I was unable to post all day today – think it’s finally fixed. Fingers crossed.
It didn’t end up raining much yesterday, though it looked like this most of the day. The cows weren’t concerned. 😉 Been plenty of rain lately – I’m ready for some sun, or maybe just a little less humidity!

It’s stormy season here so the chances of me getting to see a moon rise this week are slim. Bummer for the actual supermoon viewing (which I am thankful that I was reminded about at the last hour). So, I took a chance and stayed up last night to see the almost supermoon set over some Florida swampland. I got lucky that the clouds and fog were minimal, though the bugs weren’t. 😉
Hope you get to see the supermoon! 🙂

A nicobar pigeon. I didn’t know such pretty pigeons existed until I looked up what this one was.

Dad turned 70 a week ago so we took him on a little “vacation” that included some canyon hiking. He’s always been up for a challenge – an important lesson I learned from him – and despite his age and other difficulties, he gave it his all just like every other time.
Happy Father’s Day Dad!!
