Storms have passed and the rain has stopped, for now. Time to look forward and get my focus back.

Memorial Day 2012

Memorial Day 2012

Only one day a year we set aside to remember those we have lost in the service of our country – not just in recent conflicts but for the entire history of our nation. For all they have done to secure our liberties, it seems like not enough.

Thank you for your courage and sacrifice.

And deepest gratitude and condolences to the families of the fallen.

a little bit funky

a little bit funky

I was reminded of a lesson I had learned long ago recently – not to ever set expectations, especially high ones, on anything. It is much better to just go into things with an open mind and a cheerful attitude then go with the flow. As I still am feeling a bit funky (minor illness) after all the stuff that went down in the last week, I feel like I may have finally learned that lesson for good. 🙂

photo: This funky thing (passion fruit flower) just felt appropriate for the awesome Tamara Pruessner’s FloralFriday this week.

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!
